Oasis Soakwells Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27th August 2026
We’re Oasis Soakwells, a family-owned business that’s been looking after properties across the Perth metro area, from Yanchep to Mandurah, for close to ten years. This policy explains what personal information we collect through oasissoakwells.com.au, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
Oasis Soakwells is a business name operated by Joshua Dean Booysen (ABN 39 949 613 534). We’re a small operator, which technically puts us outside the businesses the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) requires to comply. We handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) anyway, because it’s just how we think it should be done.
What We Collect
When you reach out to us, through a form on the site, a phone call, or an email, we’ll usually end up with your name, phone number, email address and property address, plus whatever details you share about the job you need done.
We also pick up some information automatically just from you browsing the site: things like your IP address, the device and browser you’re using, which pages you looked at, and how you found us (for example, whether you clicked through from a Google ad).
How We Collect It
Mostly, it’s you telling us directly: filling out a quote request, calling the number on the site, or emailing us. The rest is collected automatically in the background while you browse, through the tools below.
Cookies, Analytics, and How We Track the Site
We run Google Tag Manager (GTM) behind the scenes to manage our tracking tools, which currently include:
Google Analytics, so we can see how people use the site: which pages get looked at, how long visitors stick around, that sort of thing.
Google Ads tracking, so we know which of our ads are actually leading to an enquiry, rather than just guessing.
Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised session activity such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, so we can see where people get stuck or drop off and fix it. Clarity is linked to our Google Ads and Analytics accounts so we can join the dots between behaviour and where a visitor came from.
We specifically track phone number clicks, email address clicks and form submissions as key events, because that tells us whether the site is actually doing its job: helping people get in touch with us.
These tools use cookies and similar technology to do this. Most of what they collect is aggregated or de-identified rather than tied to you personally, though under Australian law things like IP address still count as personal information.
You’re free to switch cookies off in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as smoothly if you do. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using their opt-out browser add-on, manage ad personalisation through Google’s Ad Settings, or read more about how Microsoft Clarity handles data on Microsoft’s Clarity privacy page.
Why We Use It
Simply put: to get back to you, quote your job properly, deliver the work, and keep improving the site and our advertising so it’s actually useful to the next property owner who lands on it. We don’t sell your information to anyone. That’s not how we operate.
Who We Share It With
Google (for Analytics and Ads) and Microsoft (for Clarity) process some of this data as part of running those tools, on servers that may be located overseas, including in the US. Beyond that, we don’t hand your information to third parties unless we’re legally required to.
Keeping It Safe
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and only accessible to the people who actually need it to do the job. No system is completely bulletproof, but we don’t treat your details carelessly.
How Long We Keep It
We hold onto general enquiry and quote request details for up to two years, unless the enquiry turns into a job, in which case information tied to an invoice or job record is kept for five years, in line with our tax record-keeping obligations. After that, it’s securely deleted or de-identified.
Access and Corrections
Want to know what we’ve got on file, or need us to fix something? Just get in touch using the details below and we’ll sort it out.
Got a Concern?
Talk to us first. We’d rather fix it directly. If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled it, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally as our tools or practices change. The date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
